Team, and what it connects to

You need the crew ready for Saturday, without spending the week learning new software.

Set up your kitchen, invite your crew and check what each role can do. Staff can open cost screens. Previously opened order pages can be read without signal; reconnect to make changes. Connections marked Coming are not included today.

Team & settings

Find kitchen settings and team access in one place.

  • Settings that need attention. Settings are grouped by task and show where a decision is needed.
  • Preview costing changes. Costing settings preview their impact and name which menus go over target before you save.
  • Business details on purchase orders. Business name, reply-to, phone, and delivery address feed straight onto purchase orders.
  • Vendor manager. Contacts, per-vendor purchasing method, and insight into what you actually buy from each.
  • Metric or imperial. Choose metric or US units for your kitchen.
  • Invite by email. Send an email invitation. Invitations expire, and you can revoke them.
  • Three team roles. Owner, Manager and Staff control specific actions. All teammates can open cost screens; custom roles are not available.
  • Separate kitchen accounts. Your kitchen account does not give access to another kitchen’s records.
  • Unassigned records stay separate. Older records without an assigned kitchen are not added to your account automatically.

Setup

From empty to a costed first order.

  • Guided setup. Add your kitchen details, ingredients, food facts, recipes and first order. Resume saved progress on another device.
  • Ends with a real order. The first-order estimate runs on the same engine as the rest of the app.
  • Progress from your saved work. The setup checklist checks the ingredients and recipes you have saved when you reopen it.
  • The real builder. The recipe step is the actual recipe builder, not a toy version.

Sign-in & reliability

Built for wet hands and thin signal.

  • No passwords. Sign-in is an invitation and a magic link. Links work once and die in eight minutes.
  • Access ends now. Remove someone and their access stops on their next request, not their next sign-in.
  • Safe return links. Sign-in destinations are checked, so a crafted link cannot bounce you off-site.
  • Read saved pages without signal. Previously opened order pages can be read without signal and show when they were saved. Reconnect to make changes.
  • Works without JavaScript. Core pages remain readable if browser scripts are unavailable.
  • Readable text and touch controls. Text enlargement, contrast and touch targets are checked in interface tests.
  • Notices that behave. Important messages remain visible when an action takes you to another page.
  • Service status. The service status check does not repeatedly reload kitchen records.

Ordering integrations

Coming

External ordering connections.

External ordering connections are being developed for a later release.

Sage, the in-app assistant

Sage, answering from your own numbers.

  • Ask during setup. Setup keeps an Ask Sage entry, offers questions that fit the stage and records entered so far, and gives you a direct route back.
  • Eleven checks, one proposal. Ask about the shift, recipes, stock, buying or setup. Sage can also prepare a shopping-list proposal for a manager or owner to approve.
  • Sources under the answer. Each answer shows the records and checks behind its numbers, and says when evidence is missing.
  • A proposal is not a change. Answers read your records. A shopping-list draft waits for an Owner or Manager to approve it, with the records checked again before saving.

Accounting & point of sale

Coming

Square and QuickBooks.

Square and QuickBooks connections are being built. Until they land, nothing here reads from or writes to your books.

Four other areas.

  • Recipes and costing

What a plate costs, from the case price up, with the arithmetic shown.

  • Getting prices in

Upload invoices, price lists and spreadsheets. Review the details before saving.

  • The day itself

The event, the shopping, the prep, the pack, and what actually came through the back door.

  • Compliance and labels

Calculate nutrition per portion and print an estimate. Review allergens and guest restrictions. Kitchen date labels are Coming.

If this area covers your kitchen, bring one real menu and see it run. Book a 15-min demo

What it connects to

Your supplier does not have to be plugged in. CostCook reads the paper.

The reason there is no long list of connectors here is that prices get in without one. An order guide, a price sheet, an invoice, or a photograph of a delivery slip taken on the loading dock all go through the same queue.

Five doors in

A photo, a PDF, a spreadsheet, a Word document, or text you paste. Every one lands in the same review.

Review before saving

What comes out sits outside your catalog until you confirm it. Nothing reaches a plate cost that you have not seen.

What it could not read

Anything unreadable is quoted back to you word for word, beside the suggested details, so you can check it against the original.

Square and QuickBooks are not available yet

Neither connection is included in the subscription today. No release date has been announced.
